Named after her Polish grandmother, Marianna comes from a family of singers, both amateurs and professionals. She learned harmony and style by singing with family members during her formative years. The Motown sound, musical theater, attending religious services and teenage performances kept her interest in song.
Classically trained over the last eight years, Marianna has given up her soprano voice to the Broadway sounds of musical theater and cabaret once again. Her current specialties are the Standards of the 1930s and 1940s. Believing in constant vocal training, she continues to study privately with the American Conservatory Theater and local teachers in the Bay Area.
Marianna is also a member of the Bread & Roses charitable organization where every month she and her Jazz Pals serenade a hospital, nursing or convalescent home in the Bay Area. In addition, where possible she performs with the North Bay Rep Theatrical Group, headed up by songstress Sharon Boucher.
While enjoying performing in local musical theater, Marianna prefers the intimate setting of entertaining in dinner clubs throughout the Bay Area and Tahoe. Check out her recently released CD recorded live at Saylor's Restaurant in Sausalito, California on this website.
